Drought Relief Grants - Victoria (2024/2025)

The Victorian Government is offering financial support to help farmers and primary producers prepare for and manage drought conditions. The Farm Drought Support Grant provides:

Funding Levels

​

 - Up to $5,000 (excluding GST) for general applicants

​

 - Up to $10,000 (excluding GST) for applicants in eligible drought-declared LGAs (e.g. Glenelg, Southern Grampians, West Wimmera)

​

Eligible Expenses

​

 - Installation of water infrastructure (e.g. tanks, troughs, piping)Fodder and grain storage solutions

​

 - Livestock containment and feeding systems

​

 - On-farm technologies to monitor water efficiency

​

Co-Contribution Requirement

​

 - Applicants must contribute at least 50% of the total project cost. For instance, a $12,000 infrastructure project may receive $6,000 from the grant with the remainder funded by the applicant.

 

Application Deadline 

​

 - Applications are open until 30 September 2025 or until funding is exhausted. Administered through Rural Finance and to find out more about specific guidelines click here.
